It’s been a long couple days at work so I needed to crack a few decent bottles. I pulled out a few QPRs from 2000 Bdx.
2000 Chateau D’Agassac - Deep color, floral blackberry nose with a little hit of oak. But not overpowering. Mocha and cassis aromas come out with a little bit of air. It is midweight and elegant on the palate with juicy fruit, some nice acid and just a hint of tannin. This is evolving nicely and showing well tonight. I’ll save my other bottles for 3-5 years.
2000 Chateau Malmaison - Deeper color than the D’Agassac. Jammier nose, plum, mocha, smoke, and licorice. Rich palate, kind of a fruit bomb, acid is late coming, could use a little more. Seems like not much tannin left. Drink up?
Right now the D’Agassac is winning!
I think I got these for $20 or so on release. Not bad!
