Since Wine & Chile Fiesta starts today and we won’t be going to Maria’s for our regular lunch, we joined our friends last night for the initial $2 Tuesday Night for this season. $2 Tuesdays means order two meals and get the less expensive one for $2. It also means order two Margaritas and get the less expensive one for $2. This generally runs from late September to late April. We don’t participate very often since chiles at night make sleeping difficult and some of our favorites from the lunch menu aren’t available at dinner. We do go when we can’t make our usual Wed lunch. We turned in our membership applications and shortly received our membership cards and various discount coupons. If you only go a couple times, it covers the $10 membership charge.
Last night Carollee started with an ‘El Reformador’, while I had ‘A Certain Smile’, and we ordered a side of guacamole to go with the chips & salsa. Others began to arrive and order their Margaritas and turn in their applications. When I had finished mine I ordered a ‘Moonlight Sonata’ and a ‘Miracle Mile’. After a time we ordered our food. Carollee had a dinner salad with blue cheese dressing and a bowl of posole, while I had half a Trailmaster steak with green chiles and a cup of soupy beans. Carollee then ordered a ‘100% Agave’. The steak was somewhat over-cooked, more medium than medium rare, so i only ate about half of it, since it was pretty dry. With six of us around the table we had good margaritas, good companionship & conversations, and a enjoyable time.
