Healthy deep ruby color. Fine, barely secondary aromas of red currant, earth, mineral and conifer. Vigorous palate with far more red fruit than black, loam, medium bodied with a lot of almost fully resolved tannins, a touch of cypress, a tiny hint of black pepper. The finish is not as long as I would have expected, but it’s balanced, clean and reprises the flavors. A lovely glass in a sweet spot for those who want both freshness and secondary flavors. Rated 91.02, should hold at this quality and evolve for 5 years.
