popped another one last night as we had guests over. have one bottle left - thank goodness!
another perfect cork with dense purple goo on distal 2-3mm. wine was vibrant with just a touch of bottle age and i’d have guessed 2001 if i had to. cassis up the ying-yang with a tartness i would not have characterized as vegetal but others have so perhaps that is right. tremendous mouthfeel and luscious finish that was memorable. one of the better 1994’s i have enjoyed the past 3 years. i think Paul Hobbs was still winemaker back then.
