But you’d be comfortable comparing an '89 Haut Brion to an '82 Mouton? It looks like your criteria is similar price/status, not whether they comparably satisfying drinking experiences, which was the point of the original comment.
1989 and 1990 (less talked about but is at the same level) are astonishingly great vintages for Lynch-Bages. 1982 Mouton is also quite variable (and highly traded) so I’m with you, I’d take 2.5 1989 Lynch-Bages.

Yes, exactly. I am hoping to try the 1990 soon. I probably will lump for cases of 89 and 90 at auction as opposed to loose bottles, given my affinity for the '89. I enjoyed the '86 but didn’t find it on the same level.
I think I need to check out an '82 Lynch and then look at some of the '90s as well.
I have some 2005 in the cellar but no where near ready for prime time. Might check in on the 2000 soon.
