1970 Veuve Cliquot

My local wine store has a few bottles of 1970 Veuve Cliquot for $350. I can’t seem to find any information about wine. Wine Searcher shows something like one bottle worldwide allegedly in Italy for €50 but clicking through to the shop doesn’t actually show a bottle for sale. I can’t seem to find any reviews or other write-ups. I searched this site and didn’t find much either. The guy in this store said they have several bottles and that they opened one when they bought the lot to see if they were good and he said the carbonation has mostly faded but the wine still tastes good. I guess at this point you would only be buying it for the novelty (and I know the whole “no good wines, just good bottles” adage), but I’m curious if anyone has any information about this. Thanks in advance

So first off, you should check out Cellar Tracker. Plenty of reviews there and the feedback is generally pretty positive.

Second, this looks like a magnum with a nice color through the glass which makes it even more appealing!

I’d 100% take a shot at one of those for $350

Lol, After I posted the picture I thought it looked like a magnum too. It’s not. Must be something strange with the angle haha.

I checked Searcher but didn’t occur to me to check cellar tracker. Will take a look over there.

Thanks!
