12 Best Burgers in America (by city)

Hmm… it’s not that I want to bash their food photography but looking at the top 3 there’s not one burger in there that makes me think I’d like to eat it. They look horrid - especially with the kind of sesame-pretzely buns they use (we seriously need a puking graemlin).

#4 starts to look appealing but even then not that much.
#5 (SF), excuse me?!?
#6 (LA) looks horrid.
#7 (Philly) - interesting… not sure if I’d have a heart attack before finishing it, or right after.
#8 (Atlanta) - is that seriously the best they can do?
#9 (Boston) - now that looks interesting
#10 (Chicago) - doesn’t look bad - but to be in the top 12 regular burger buns are forbidden? rolleyes
#11 (NO) - looks like somebody took a crap on a cow turd or something - DNPIM
#12 (Santa Fe) - is this a joke?

I think they posted an April’s Fool article in July by mistake.

You are so damn hard to impress.

Actually, that’s true.

But we’re supposed to be talking about the best 12 burgers in the whole “Burger Nation”. I’m sure you can have a better burger in SF than a patty with some blue cheese slapped on it?

I’d eat that one before any on that list:

True. That Boston burger looks pretty damn good.

We SERIOUSLY have one my friend. Click on “View more smilies”…the one right after the “suicide”.

As far as the burgers…would you prefer a Cosí burger? neener

Not my fault if pizzas suck in NYC. By the way the best pizza I’ve had so far in the US was in Denver…

But NYC had decent burgers.

Holy fuck dude…guys have died for less than that.

I am going to try and check it out this weekend, will report back!

Pie-n-Burger makes a pretty tasty hamburger and nice fresh fruit pies. It’s an old-time diner a Pasadena institution. While the photograph does the food no favors, I can’t imagine this is one of the 12 best burgers in America. I like the place, but even I’ve had 12 better burgers.

Guillaume,

Qu’est-ce que f**k??? Call me on your swing through NYC, we’ll show you some good pizza.

What, no LadyBurger? [suicide.gif]

Hey Frank,

How PnB compare to The Apple Pan?

I haven’t ventured out to Pie-n-Burger, but I find it hard to believe it has LA’s “best” burger.

I lived in Pasadena for a few years and enjoyed the place. It’s worth a visit if in Pasadena (although Pasadena has pretty good food…Tre Venezie, Saladang, Bistro 45, El Taquito truck, etc.), but I don’t think it’s LA’s best burger. I have a slight preference for Apple Pan over Pie-n-Burger, but, to be honest, prefer Fathers Office to either of them. 8oz Burger makes a nice burger also.

What are your favorites in LA?

Cheers!

Good to know; I don’t get out to Pasadena that much, but have enjoyed Saladang on a few visits for lunch.

Totally agree on the Father’s Office burger; I think the Montana location makes a better burger than the Culver City.

I’m also a big fan of the burger at Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and the pretzel burger at 3 Square is solid as well.

Frank, get yer a$$ back to Boston and let’s get one of those Radius Burgers!

G, the H&F burger here is pretty legendary. Perhaps the pic doesn’t do it justice but it is bad ass. There are certainly a number of folks on this board who can vouch for its awesomeness. Even French Toast had one when he was here!

It’s INSANE!!! The richest burger you could ever imagine. I don’t think it had much meat, just a double patty of corn-fed beef fat, covered in some awesome, super rich cheese, and a greasy bun.

Unfortunately I had to eat it in the company of Faux Hawk and Meathead, but this burger was good enough to overcome even THAT.

For me, in LA, it’s hard to beat Father’s Office. I don’t know if it’s THE BEST in LA, but it’s damn good…

+5! My only problem is how easy it is to end up spending $40+ there. Sigh.
