was lucky to get an invite from juan for private tasting that he was having at one of his friend’s house friday night.
last time we had 07 realm was from barrels and thought it was one of the best realm i have had…and from the bottle my impression of their 07 did not change. of course they are little tight but all the stuffing that makes a great wine is all there!
can’t really say which one was my favorite but…there was some ahh…moments.
'06 tempest was drinking really nice!
all of the bottles were pop and pour and had it over 4 hours. from '07 line up, i really liked the bard and to kalon.
also i really enjoyed '07 falstaff which is 60% cab franc with blend of cab and merlot.
all of the 07 realm showed very nice considering it was just bottled in july…very rich, super long finish and nice balance.
i know the wine had over 15+% but i could not detect any kind of excess heat on any of the bottles.
