had another bottle last night and this wine has not disappointed me yet. decanting for an hour lead to the blood orange, which has been the unmistakable dominant aroma in the past, taking a back-seat to the clove/Xmas nose tonight with lots of forest floor but not the brisk alpine notes found in some domestic PN. somewhat reminiscent of mulled wine in some ways? tannins remain and are sturdy but in the background and the finish is satisfying and smooth. the mid-palate has a real Sweet Tarts thing going on that is undeniably sexy but somehow i would not describe this wine as “candified”. Bravo Margi.
enjoyed with a few BBQ oysters and hot sauce, grilled pork chops and baked apples. i adore this wine and continue to plan on keeping one bottle for the summer of 2015.
