Standish “Dessert Wine”
2001 The Standish, Single Vineyard Shiraz alc 14.1-16%…the little white strip along the bottom the label reads “Barossa Valley Dessert Wine”…very much of a roasted coffee bean nose perhaps covered with mocha…palate is more fruit based with sweet plum and prune notes…becomes a serious Shiraz with tar and bramble and really too sweet on the palate…no alcohol showing but has a little raspberry that reminds me of Chambourd…Kirsch….really quite remarkable and works well as “dessert”
