TN: 2015 Ultramarine Rosé Heintz Vineyard

  • 2015 Ultramarine Rosé Heintz Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (2/14/2020)
Ah…a little more red saignée in this than the lighter 2014! Intense citrus and crispness with those exploding pop rocks of bubbles…not an elegant effervescence…a full on par-tay! Lots of fleshy cherry skin and strawberry…creamy ginger and blood orange mousse…lovely dried roses and cherry blossom florals. What I just LOVE about these UM wines is…it works! The fleshy fruit, yet weightless freshness…energized effervescence that’s not harsh, but totally Champenoise…creamy and airy mousse…just a true pleasure to pop and enjoy! The benchmark for domestic bubbly imo. (94 pts.)

Thanks for the check in. I haven’t even started in on them yet.

How much skin contact does he use typically?

Just had this last Sunday. Both of us loved it. Different from 2014. Thank you for the tasting note- sure helps me understand how to describe what I just drank. My friend mentioned the ginger flavor.
