I really hope there’s some half bottle offers this year.

that would be awesome - not sure who has half bottles, but I think they'd do well

Um, I wish...but it's not Krug, it's Louis Vuitton, and they won't exactly care about BerserkerDay!

I disagree. If Kelley Fox was included then I wouldn't be able resist buying them and I'm trying to refrain from wine purchases.

Okay, we have a couple of champagne offers and a few other treats from a new participant. Scott from Lopa Wines is all in.

Let's hope the tariffs don't screw this up...

You know him, you love him because he really got Envoyer rocking and rolling but now he's doing his own thing.

Here's a thread on wine talk about his stuff

I gave a bottle of the 2010 Butterdragon to a business colleague last year, and he liked it so much he went to their website and was able to order more (http://www.matchvineyards.com/).

Looks like they still have some inventory left - any chance we can help them clear out the remainder on Berserker Day?

It is this gesture that identifies him as a Berserker – a fierce warrior drawn from Norse mythology that bites his shield in a self-induced frenzy prior to battle."

I don't know how this works exactly, but have you reached out to Byron Blatty? It's a small, newer winery out of Los Angeles [county] that I generally really like. They make what I feel are decently Paso Robles-esque fruit forward wines. It seems like they like to participate in tastings/fests around town for more exposure, so maybe this would be something they are interested in.

I love their wines but given their relatively small production and their planned release for their 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon on Tues 1/28, I'm not sure they will have enough wine for BerserkerDay! [cry.gif]

Agreed. Mark Blatty makes some excellent wines that are scoring in 95's with Jeb Dunnuck and the Parker crowd. In fact I think every one he makes is at least 90+. We share facility, and although his style is very different than mine, I enjoy his wines a lot whenever I try them.

We'll have to see what he comes up with...

Some great suggestions here, and I strongly encourage people to reach out and point these small wineries/owners to BerserkerDay - feel free to give them my direct email address - it's more likely for them to participate when actual customers point it out than when the butthead founder of the site does, as then it sounds like solicitation!

I sent Erin an email and she replied that she would love to learn more about BD and what participation looks like. I will PM you her # and let her know you will be contacting her.

Does this qualify for good deed of the day? :)

if you know him then ping him and ask. If he's interested I'll follow up.

I looked at his website and his wines are available only to list members and on allocation. Doesn't mean he wouldn't want to expand his market. let me know.

Nice! Now who is going to set up the auction for a helicopter ride to Screaming Eagle? I heard that was something that can be arranged here? Money won't be a problem, I'm asking for a very rich friend.

AWESOME! I apologize for speaking too soon as I may have been too pessimistic earlier... I'm going to sign up for Grand Cru now - very excited!

No kidding, you get the berserkerday creativity award every year.

I'm in for whatever you put up. My wife and sister think you're cute so you got that going for you...

Never under estimate the power of wineberserker, grasshopper.

Erin from MDC was great to chat with. She said straight up wineberserkers has been very important to their success.

That's a very common comment from many small producers and that's what Berserkerday is about, people like them.

Can't wait to see what she comes up with for everyone.

Some great suggestions here, and I strongly encourage people to reach out and point these small wineries/owners to BerserkerDay - feel free to give them my direct email address - it's more likely for them to participate when actual customers point it out than when the butthead founder of the site does, as then it sounds like solicitation!
it really works too! the response I got from Kelley Fox sounded like they're in too!

I reached out to Fred Scherrer. He’s going to look into what participating might entail.

Fingers crossed!

I should have bought more of that Wilde Farm last year. Those are turning out to be a helluva bargain.

Please show some mercy and move this to Sunday. January is hell work month around here.

Yeah after trying Goodfellow for the first time over Thanksgiving I figured I would be opening the wallet wide, throw in Kelley and it will spell the end of days for me [truce.gif]
