Heading to Yakima tomorrow

#1 Post by MOrsino » September 12th, 2019, 3:28 pm

I am taking off for Yakima tomorrow and can probably fit in 2 or 3 wineries. Suggestions?

It really depends how far you’re willing to drive.

Red Mountain is about an hour southeast on I-82. There are a ton of really great options there. More Bordeaux blends than anything else really.

Prosser also has a few and is a touch closer. More like 45 mins SE of Yakima.

A fair bit closer, in addition to those already mentioned, I would add Cote Bonneville in Sunnyside; J Bell, Dineen/Sheridan, Mas Chappell, and Tanjuli in Zillah; Freehand in Wapato.

Walla Walla is a touch over 2 hours away so probably too far.

Oh, and if you like tamales, Los Hernandez in Union Gap is an absolute can’t miss for anything. Seriously.
