NY Times "From Wild Blueberries and Maine Terroir, Fine Sparkling Wine"

There's an interesting article in the NY Times. I can't imagine how an article like this would miss that Maine's First winery focused on making blueberry wine for decades before this little venture started up. But it's an interesting read...

You never read the NY Times for the text.

You always read it for the sub-text.

I had a glass of Bluet at a restaurant in Bar Harbor this summer. It was pretty simple and not something I’d order a second time.

The still wines are Bartlett winery, however, were interesting and I bought a few bottles of different things to bring home.

The winemaker, Michael Terrien, is a good guy (met him once). From Maine, but lives in Napa now, and makes a really nice burgundy-style, meant-to-age Chardonnay:

I have had the Bluet as well. It is fine as a novelty, but really is at its best when mixed into a cocktail.
