Revision uses milk sugar in many of their hazies ---- a choice I typically prefer not be made.

Fremont HFoD v11 - got an extra couple of weeks in the fridge, due to me finding other beer I wanted to plow through.

Amazing to see how fast this went to crap - watered down papaya on top of Coors light. Just awful.

I'm lactose intolerant so I have watch every label, I have had many Revision beers that obviously don't have milk sugar, you just have to be diligent, sadly there are a lot of breweries now that are brewing what I call pastry hazed IPA's that are IMHO downright obnoxious, just look at Electric Brewing as the biggest culprit, the amount of sugars/milk sugars in their beers are insane, but these kids have to have their sugar coated thick creamy high ABV beers that don't resemble beer in the slightest. I went to Mikkeller Portland last week on the way to Lake Chelan. Had an electric, salty, nervous, wonderful Pils and a wholly forgettable Imperial IPA.

The pop-up is across the street from Pigeon and has a see-and-be-seen kind of vibe. Food looked great but I just had beer.

Just got back from Copenhagen and the Faroe Islands. I won't say that I drank a lot of beer (and in particular, Mikkeller), but the evidence is damning. I found their beers to be generally solid, but because they cover such a wide spectrum, results can vary.

Monkish Brewing Co. Looptid. DIPA. 8% ABV. Hopped with Galaxy and Pacific Jade. Very cool hop combo that delivers plenty of juiciness but has a pronounced beam of hoppy bitterness to remind us we're drinking a beer. Very full creamy mouth feel. One of the better new recipes from the Monk crew lately.

Highly Recommended,

Pretty sure this is the largest “can” I’ve ever bought at 19.2 ounces. Here’s the MT description -

Pillars of Eternity. The excellent folks from Holy Mountain Brewing recently visited the Belmont Fermentorium to summon forth this ridiculously tasty decocted IPA. We set aside a small portion of the pilsner malt & let it rest at a couple of crucial temperatures before boiling and adding to the rest of the mash, yielding some complex malt character and body to go with the absurd amounts of Citra, Strata, Idaho 7, and Mosaic hops we subsequently introduced. Ready your body for a beautifully soft 6.8% beverage that explodes with intense notes of pineapple, candied peaches, mango, and citrus. Tall 19.2oz cans of this liquid miracle will be up for grabs in the online sale 6/8.

Not quite as much of an orange juice bomb as the Tiger millionaire - I would agree this is a great beer.

Hello. My name is Andrew and I have a Modern Times problem. The Easy As is my least favorite of this line-up and feels a bit on the thin side.

I’m still wondering wtf is up with these labels, as it feels like they’re designed to cause a seizure after 3 or 4 beers.

So far, preference has been:
* Tiger Millionaire- OJ bomb, but man it’s a good one
* Timewave Zero - probably the most balanced of the group
* Pillars of Eternity - a little dry/bitter on the end, but still a great beer
* Easy As - I’d definitely happily drink again (I have 3 more), but not something I’d stand in line for

OMNI - "F.A.D." NEIPA --- this is an excellent one. Clean and fresh.

Surly - "One Man Mosh Pit" NEIPA --- also excellent, but a bit sweeter than the OMNI.

Prairie - "Twist" dry-hopped Saison --- great citrusy aromatics, and lightly-to-moderately tart on the palate. A bit white wine-ish. Refreshing. Excellent.

Poured my wife a slug of the Tiger Millionaire last night while I was grilling.

“Yech. This is super sweet. Is this even beer?”

Poured her some Revision Smoke and Mirrors and she was much happier. Too funny.

Tiger Millionaire must be close to three months old at this point? I would not be surprised if a 10% ABV Hazy IPA was a malt bomb at this age. I thought the beer was great on release fwiw.

It was part of the May on line release, so it's about 2 months out.

Modern Times Beer. Space Demon IPA. 6.7% ABV. Hopped with Simcoe and Centennial and then dry hopped@3lbs/bbl with Amarillo, Strata and Nelson. I love beers like this one, kinda austere, soft and delicate but still has plenty of character and complexities. The hop combo delivers lots of flavors ranging from Nectarine, Tangerine,Passion fruits and resiny spruce tips. The body is soft and delicate and the beer finishes long and bone dry. We picked these crowlers up Friday afternoon at MT's Loma Land location, not sure about availability at other MT locales.

riip Beer Co. Citradical. Pale Ale 5.6% ABV 100% Citra hopped. This is the epitome of a summer crusher. Huge aromatics and layers of pillowy soft citrusy goodness at the perfect ABV level. If Ian canned this in four packs it would be my summer house beer, available on tap and for growler/crowler fills at the brewery only. If your local and want a world class Pale Ale head down to surf city and fill up.

Your in good hands up there with the new MT location now open, glad you dug the beers. Space Demon is one of my faves of that style. If you come across cans of BBA Monsters Park with Vanilla jump on them, insanely good, worth very penny. I know I sound like a broken record but Modern Times is just killing it with just about every style they tackle.

Monkish Brewing Co. Foggy Window. DIPA. Hopped with Nelson Galaxy and Citra hops. 8.1% ABV. Outside of the two 100% Nelson hopped beers Henrys brews, Broadcasting Live and Liquid Flows this is my favorite Monkish beer. The perfect hop trilogy. It's aromatic with those southern hemisphere hops and is juicy and complex but is still crisp and dry which is why I adore this recipe. Great new can art to boot. World class on every level.

Monkish Brewing Co. Planets Gotta Roll. 8.2% ABV DDH DIPA Hopped entirely with Galaxy hops. 2019 vintage. A fascinating argument amongst hop heads is that this could very well be the GOAT of Galaxy only hopped DIPAs and this vintage isn't going to change many minds, including mine. Incredible saturated nose of sweet ripe pineapple, mangos and papayas with a tinge of herbal dank hoppy green matter that hangs on the back end, you can smell this 10 feet away when you crack the can. Flavors follow the nose, a beautiful melange of ripe tropical fruits, sweet pineapple, mango, papaya, peaches and apricots up front before the transition mid palate that is all orange sorbet. It finishes long and dry with a touch of hoppy green bitterness to keep it all in balance and refreshing for the ABV. Released at the brewery today in cans only. If you love Galaxy hops you owe it to yourself to seek this one out, it's an amazing representation of Galaxy.

Highly Recommended,

So a weird little bar in Reedsport, Rust’d Star, is pouring Barley Brown’s on draught. We had the really great Hazerbeam IPA.

It’s 35 minutes away and I might go for another pint later this week.

Just released yesterday. Bought in a whim.

It's not easy being drunk all the time. Everyone would be doing it if it were easy.

Modern Times Beer. Totally Open In Santa Barbara. 8% ABV DIPA. Hopped with Mosaic, Galaxy and Nelson hops. Part of the July on-line sale to celebrate the opening of Modern Times new Santa Barbara location. This is the fourth in the series of "Totally Open" beers that are brewed to celebrate a new MT location and IMO the best. The hop bill is a classic trilogy and feature's the fabulous 2019 vintage of Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hop's that are amongst the best in years. The nose is dank, juicy and hugely aromatic. Flavors follow the nose with layers of complex flavors that run the gamut from bitter sweet orange citrus fruits, ripe tropical fruits and juicy stone fruit notes. The beer transitions mid-palate and show's the vineous dank dirty earthy notes from the Nelson along with hints of red and blue berries and fleshy ripe melon's before finishing out clean, dry and long. Not only is this the best in the series, it is one of the best hoppy MT beers so far this year. You can still pick them up at most MT mini-marts for $23.50 per four pack.

Highly Recommended,

Cheers,

Bud

Mostly natural, wild fermentation, and fruit beers. French and Belgian styles.

Went with brother in-law and his son. We each bought a 3-glass sampler and shared all 9 beers. Good stuff. One of my new favs in the Chicago area.

+1 on Bud's review of MT's Totally Open in Santa Barbara. Excellency of the highest order!

Bud,
Did you see MT has a 100% Nelson on-deck?!!?

Having my first Ft. George 3-Way this season and Andrew, you're wrong. This is delicious.

Had a single four pack of the initial run and it was nothing to write home about. Glad to see it was better for you... YMMV.

They do. Different hops. Only had first batch and thought it was nothing more than ok. Will try subsequent batches if I see them, but not going to seek out.
