Sitting here in a Des Moines, IA hotel on a Saturday night with no good wine available. Bored to tears.
What’s the next hot wine? Downstream wines? Cru Beaujolais? Some great white burg with no premox? Modern Bordeaux that doesn’t require 20 years to age?
Cough it up Berserkers, inquiring minds want to know!
Would somebody tell me when it's my turn to start a thread asking what the next "gottahaveit" wine brand or variety will be? Being new, I'm probably way down the list, so advance notice would be great. TIA!

My best wines for 2020:
2014 Marie Courtin Champagne Efflorescence Extra Brut
2012 Minière F & R Champagne Influence Brut
2008 Rhys Skyline PN SCM
2015 Ulysse Collin Champagne Les Pierrières
2014 Laherte Frères Champagne BdB EB Les Grands Crayeres
I’d honestly never heard of this stuff until right before the 4th—I was in a gas station in Fontana, WI and the owner was screaming the F-word every couple of seconds into his phone because he hadn’t gotten his White Claw delivery right as the lake was getting packed for the weekend. Apparently their best seller.

WSJ says Cab Franc, Macconais, darker Rose,
and English sparkling are where it’s at.

What is man, when you come to think upon him, but a minutely set, ingenious machine for turning, with infinite artfulness, the fine red wine of Shiraz into urine?
Already huge, whether it's this or some other malt based seltzer or carbonated drink with lower calories, someone will be next Mike's Hard Lemonade to emerge from the pack and be the leader.

Think Cava has a shot as people grow out of Prosecco, want more complex bubbles, but don't want to pay up for it.
Personally, I’m more interested in cool wines. But playing along.

Cava is already “hot” I think. Prosecco is passé.
Hot in this group may be different than what I assume as hot as hot is what gets display space in major retail all the time....like LaMarca.

Is this what you mean by “darker rose”.
Sorry it’s sideways, WB upload seems to override the original image. I tried rotating the original but no effect on result ).
(Had a total flashback seeing this in local KGBO for the princely sum of $9 - equates to about $2?US I think. It’s rather ironic they made a new label to say “Original”. Have not tasted yet, obviously. Will be interesting to see what 50 years of aging does (to the taster)))

I gotta think it would be something like this for those cold Iowa winters. A few sticks of cinnamon, some cloves, some orange slices and you're good:

Wow, I go away for less than 24 hours, and this thread is totally in disarray. Probably because I didn't setup a poll with highly restrictive and meaningless options.

Doesn't Syrah have to be a big thing before it can be de-throned from being the Next Big Thing?
Matt, I don't want you to think I've got a crush on you or anything, but I just wanted to say that your avatar is one of my favorites here.

If you whisper the word, "Verdicchio," at Wine-Berserkers, how long will it be before the Hipsters & the Foodies & the Nouveaus & the Old Guard & the High Brows & the Hippies & all the rest of the bottom-dwelling parasitic scum will be casually repeating the word at their cocktail parties?
