Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
Idk, 16 1er was 70 something/btl, not too pricey.
Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
Having gotten in on the Legras the other day, I had to hold off on these. $30/btl would have made it an irresistible deal. But they are delicious!

I requested Beaumonts 2-3 hours after email went out (why not try) and got a firm rejection.

Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
As it turns out, Envoyer never received my email response, so no dice for me.
Then, yesterday, I followed-up on my Marguet request of two days ago to find out that they never got my initial request on that one, either. Now I feel like I need to follow-up on every single request, as my emails clearly aren't getting through for whatever reason. .... looking forward to the new website!
I am holding out a single grain of hope that I'll land any of my requests for the aged Bdx. that came through in today's afternoon offer. I replied fairly late, and it was by email ... so we'll see ...

I replied within a minute of receiving the email. I only asked for one bottle: the '85 Leoville Barton. jfc. Burgundy has gotten so expensive. I thankfully already own a number of the wines offered today as I couldn't afford to buy back in now.
This is not a comment on pricing via Greg and Envoyer. Been a happy customer for 10 yrs. Just an observation.

Any thoughts on the L'Anglore offering? Haven't seen these wines in my market, but pretty darned pricey for Lirac and Tavel....

Good wines. Buzzy, cult-y, hipster stuff. Never really moved me. Used to be cheaper. My two cents.

If memory serves me correctly, this was a tad simplistic for the price. I'd rather use the money towards futures.

Anyone else grab some of those 2014 Produttori? I went for Rabaja x 2 and then emailed and picked up the 2015 Normale x 3 for $32

Thoughts on Frank Balthazar Cornas? Reasonably priced.

Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
I'd vouch for his wines. Good, traditional Cornas producer - he makes the real deal and is a decent value alternative to some of the super star producers if you actually want to drink the stuff.

Price was jacked up a bit over last year.
Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
Balthazar is legit. Got a few 2015 Chaillot for ~$50 (not from Envoyer) not too long ago. I wouldn't open any Chaillot for a long ass time though.

Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
Yeah, the Chaillot is up by $10. It's still $10 cheaper than anywhere else though. Still a good value in my book and asked for three. I think in most of N. Rhone the market is catching up to the quality of the wines. Still some good values--but probably gone are the days of insane values. Seems like everything has gone up for '17, which might not be as good as the previous two vintages? Still buying most of my favorites though.
Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
You can drink the Cuvee Casimir earlier, though I don't really like that bottling. I like the Chaillot bottling a lot - it's one of the best bargains in Cornas imho given the quality.julianseersmartin wrote: ↑May 8th, 2019, 10:26 amI'd vouch for his wines. Re: Envoyer Thread #2: Everything else
Was about to buy some 2014 riserva but a quick search in winesearcher showed a local store available for $10 less (and ready for pick up), so I purchased there. Hoping that I'll be able to share some with my son one day (his birth year)... if there's any left
