Me either.

After it took so long last time I swore never again. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, but at this point we’re almost at 2 months and not even a tracking number.

How about the flowery 2015 Protege offering today?

"if you love the lush, showy style of Caymus and other pedal-to-the-metal Napa Cabernets, you need to get your fingers flying..."

Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet per the WS review. Anyone know the %s????

Doesn't sound like a Cab to me!!

Missed that, First Bottle got my attention earlier with the Halcon Syrah and Petit Syrah.

Probably a good deal. I love Chanin wines, but haven’t tried Lumen. If I weren’t over budget and out of storage I would buy [truce.gif]

Lutum is in our top 5 domestic pinots. $39 a bottle and free shipping was an easy yes. This plus Quivet today has been expensive.

I snagged a few of the 2009 d'yquem. I know I shouldn't touch it for a decade or so, but I probably won't be able to stop myself.

2015 Mondavi To-Kalon Cab $99 96+ Wine Advocate. Seems like a good deal. Basically declassified Opus for 1/3 the price.

Yquem has been pushing out the 2009s periodically it seems.. have seen ex-cellar offers from multiple stores over the past few months... at $225.

Great deal. Have some 13s I got from the winery that need a few more years so i'm excited to try these. The AXR folks have really been trying to get rid of the legacy V Madrone stuff. I'm sure we'll see another big deal at one point. If you get on their emails they periodically send out deals on leftover V madrone stuff.

I am new to this forum, but follow Last Bottle and occasionally purchase. I ended up grabbing 4 for the 2009 V Madrone cabs, as it seemed like they were a really great price. I could not find much info out there and had not heard of V Madrone before (I am still relatively new to the wine game). I am looking forward to receiving them.

Any insight on V Madrone?

Welcome! V Madrone has participated in at least the last two Berserker Day events, and their write up from 2019 has some information about the winery itself. Here is the link --> viewtopic.php?f=73&t=157861. And here is the link to more information on Berserker Day...check it out next year! viewtopic.php?f=73&t=157160

I have only tasted the 2014 and 2015 Zins which I purchased on BD in 2018. They were bigger bodied Zins as would be expected from a Napa Zin, as opposed to Sonoma. Yet, they still were still Zin-like in the characteristics - dark red fruits, some floral elements and nice peppery spice on the end. I anticipate their cabs to be big, bold, rich in dark fruit flavor and oak elements with a "soft" mouthfeel once properly aged as are the 2009's.

The cabs typically retail for between $125-$175. I've seen prices as low as $99, and every once in a while a 40%-50% off deal, but even that doesn't get you down to the $59 on LBW, and top it off w/ free shipping for a really great deal. This was a good chance to try some at a reasonable price.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I was shocked at the priced, based on what little I could find online.

I would have 100% bought if it was a 750ml bottle.
Still tempted at 375ml.

I much prefer 375s of Sauternes; it’s too sweet to drink a ton of imo.

Being the only one in the house who drinks sticky wine, I almost exclusively buy 375s. I opened an 01 LTB earlier this year that was an orphan 750 from my cellar. It was a delicious wine, but to me almost ten days to get through!

I grabbed six of them. Has anyone tried it?
