Did anyone get Étienne Calsac Clos des Maladries Champagne from Balanced Wine or was it sold out before yesterday?

That's a pretty nice compliment from what I've historically seen. :) TY

Then there was a case of Kutch from their mailing list. I'll live.
Winning the title is one thing......retaining it is a whole nother.
LOL, not thinking about winning anything, let alone retaining. Just a lot of good wine.

Drinking a Zoetic from last year right now. Its fantastic. '14 Hop Kiln. Impulse buy and now happy customer.
Thanks Rich!! I'm thrilled to have you as a happy customer!!

First time participant. Bought a case of 2015 Biggio Hamina Holmes PN.

Completely overwhelmed by everything as a first-time participant... I see Sandler getting a lot of cosign as a great value buy, anything else in that $20-$40 per bottle range you guys can recommend?

Adding 12+6 from Biggio-Hamina.
Only 3 cases all in all and then two six packs of glasses to match the wines I bought [cheers.gif]

Lots, but the Longplay and Loring are both very lovable in that range.

The 10% off with Hi Time got the price of the 2012 Vilmart GCd'O down to 72 bucks a bottle. That is less than Envoyer offered it, and for that price, I couldn't pass. Thank you, Veronica--I needed to reload a few more of these.
My WOTY candidates for 2019:
2014 Marie Courtin Eloquence BdB Extra Brut
2017 Rivers-Marie PN Platt SC
2017 Kutch Pinot Noir SC PN
2009 Roederer Cristal Brut
2017 Carlisle Zin Mancini Ranch RRV

My best wines of 2018:
2017 Kutch Falstaff Sonoma Coast PN
2012 Marguet La Grande Ruelle Ambonnay

Kindness matters.

Pretty much everything is in that price range. Some of my favorites covering a range of wines and styles include Briceland, Cabot, Cowan, Veleta, and Vincent.

Agree on Sandler - consider Cabot and Briceland, as well as Crawford Family and Ladd. (Bought from all of those today)

Man, the best and worst day of the year are today.

Best: Because it's Berserker Day!

Worst: It's as far from the next Berserker Day as any day of the year.

Great day (and weekend)! Thanks to all the producers who participated and, of course, Todd, for creating this extravaganza. I got all the (re)orders I targeted from past favorites plus a few new producers that I was interesting in trying. As always, my budget was $25/bottle avg delivered to Ohio, and it ended up at $23.50, so for the newbies who wonder what's good in that price range, I can assure them the answer is A LOT! [Due to Ohio's 'minimum' state pricing laws and the lack of good local wine stores, I buy all my wine online from out-of-state DTC vendors.] So, my final stats are:126 total bottles @ $23.50/per bottle avg. I'll add a few cases of mostly mixed whites during spring release from several of these producers who haven't offered those varietals yet. Beyond those spring purchases, I won't buy much more for the year, tapping my minimal cellar to round out the household's 250-300 bottle/year needs. As our tastes have changed to preferring the 'lighter' Willamette Valley and Humboldt County styles over the 'bigger' central and Sonoma/Napa Cali styles, including little-oaked, crisp, tart whites, I ended up with:

Rose (18)
Campesino 12
iOTA 6

Whites (22)
Goodfellow 6 Chardonnay
Longplay 4 Chardonnay
Paetra 6 Riesling
Vincent 4 Chardonnay & 2 Pinot Blanc

'Big Reds' (6)
Castelli 6 Nebbiolo

Syrah (10)
Wilde Farm 4
Briceland 6

Zinfandel (8)
Wilde Farm 4
Briceland 4

Pinot Noir (60)
Briceland 2
Wilde Farm 4
FrannyBeck 12
Vincent 6
Longplay 12
iOTA 6
Goodfellow 18

Unfortunately for me/us we're only drinking only 2 days a week (not even drinking wine on BerserkerDay - that's a sacrilege!) but I did re-up on Paetra, and I'm super tempted to try the l'Ecole! In fact, because we're doing this 2-day a week thing, I'm buying far less wine, and it sucks...though then I have money for home improvements instead! Trying to drink what's in the cellar, and fortunately I've got about 200 bottles of BerserkerDay wines still in the cellar

Good point from Merrill - many participants extend their offers through the end of the day, sometimes even the next day (if they have any left! Looks like quite a few sold out this year!)

Great event. Taking advantage of Preview day kinda had me done by 2 today, got to take a nap. Though I did tack on 6 more settling up with the folks at Goodfellow earlier. When I hear something they produce described as liquid crack, how do you resist. All in all, 151 bottles across 22 producers. The damage is done and what lies ahead is getting it all in to CT and then waiting for the parade of UPS and FedEx trucks that will be coming down my block.

I don't have an abbreviated version, its just the way I took note of what I got in Google Sheets, so sorry for the length...

Two words: too much.

But it’s a great chance to try stuff I have never had, and reload on a few wines at bargain prices.

Rich did great, and actually bought more than I did in my best year. As I said, I was more of a spectator this year as I have over 500 bottles from BD producers in the cellar, so I just ended up with 39 bottles, glasses, and snacks from Nola. I know Sheila bought quite a bit more than I did and it will be fun to see how others did. It looked like an incredibly successful BD and was as much fun watching as playing.

Rich K0rz€nk0 is definitely going to be the BerserkerDay 10 VIP/MVP the way this has panned out. Wow.
Possibly but I'd wait to see Sheila's list before you go crowning Subby ... [cheers.gif]

And now the rest of you know why Sheila is the 'All-Pro' - she's won MVP for years before we had an MVP, and took last year off.

Was not intending to buy anything due to a self-imposed buying hiatus, but was too hard to pass up a 6 pack of the Goodfellow Berserker Cuvee and a mixed 6 pack of Paetra 2017s. Buying hiatus resumes now.

I'm thrilled that I got to use Preview day to plan and start buying. Most of today's offers I wanted came up early, so I was basically done by around 1 PM. I had a blast enabling others. The selections this year were unbelievable! Everyone really pulled out the stops in their offers this year. I have no idea where I'm going to put everything though. Planning on doing a CT inventory this week to see what I actually do have here. What a wonderful way to celebrate BD10! flirtysmile

Sheila is spot on, great selections this year and everyone brought their A game. Thank you to Todd, the Mods and anyone else that helped organize this shindig. Thanks to all the sponsors and everyone that put an offer out there. A great event all around.

So true - made it so easy being a part of GCC - still had one impulse buy and really need to think about more diversity with my orders next year!

I was on a very short leash today: "What’s that your looking at? We already have way too many glasses, and if you want to see some real berserk behavior we can talk about how much wine you’ve bought since you 'stopped buying wine.'" I did manage to get some Flannery steaks.
