Thanks, I didn’t see that.

Anyone ever try these 95 point Decanter wines. I am not a huge Malbec drinker but enjoy them once every so often. Cellar Tracker was not kind to this wine.
Los Haroldos Mendoza Reserva de Familia Malbec 2013
We're loving this bright and refined reserve bottling from Los Haroldos. There is a polished sensibility to this wine, very Old World in character. Red fruits dominate the palate with earthen accents and floral nuance. This wine has real panache for the price!
95 Points - Decanter World Wine Awards 2016!
"So clean, so fresh! Inviting nose loaded with juicy cherries and raspberries. Elegant palate, with some shiny crunchy red fruits supported by chalky tannins and a touch of invigorating briny minerality. Stylish wine, with an impressive tension and a long final freshness."

Took a chance on the Los Haroldos Mendoza Reserva de Familia Malbec when it was offered several months ago, intending to use it for cooking, etc. but found its very drinkable for the price. Good QPR to us. Don't know/trust/care about the Decanter rating, tho.

Thoughts on the current Panther Creek Fir Crest Vineyard Willamette Pinot Noir 2013 offering for $19.99? FS on four bottle purchase?

I had a local distributor talk about how Decanter was the best reviewers. I have never had any attention to them either and have never bought a wine based on their ratings so wondering if they are as bad as a James Suckling review.

WTSO is now offering a "Hold at Fedex Location" shipping option. If you choose it you get a menu of FedEx shipping locations in your area to choose from and WTSO ships it directly there. They say the hold is good for 15 business days.

Around here, I have mine held at a local fedex office store, so inside and climate controlled. They have also offered pick up at Walgreens. Much better than non delivery then sitting on a truckMike Lindauer wrote:Not sure I want my wine held at a FedEx location for any length of time, at who knows what temperature.b. c@stner wrote:WTSO is now offering a "Hold at Fedex Location" shipping option. My closest FedEx Office is just fine. So is one of the Walgreens. As I know it to be previous hold time was 5 business days, could call and extend for 5 more I believe? Anyway if you know your hold location is solid this certainly adds some flexibility.Mike Lindauer wrote:Not sure I want my wine held at a FedEx location for any length of time, at who knows what temperature.b. c@stner wrote:WTSO is now offering a "Hold at Fedex Location" shipping option. Here’s my brief note on that wine, from last month:
“Merlot and Cab Franc. This is excellent, and the best wine I’ve had from Lake County. Smooth, lush, fragrant, and showing the hallmarks of Cab Franc in the cool menthol streak on the finish.”

Just got this one last week. $21.99 pretty darn good wine.
2010 Ardal Tradicion Ribera del Duero Reserva Selección Especial (Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero)
3/9/2018
wineglas
93
Day 1: Wanted to experiment with a bottle that was shipped and how it would drink next day. Well yes wine can taste great right after being shipped. This has a wonderful nose of menthol, blueberries, spices, wood and dust. Palate is solid. Nice fruit and earth featuring blueberries, cherries, dust, wood and spices. Medium plus finish and concentrated. This wine should evolve over the next 15 years. Excellent value for only $22.99!!! Outstanding WTSO offering. 92 points
Day 2: Really in a dumb phase. The fruit elements are not as present as day 1 and certainly day 3 after the review. 88 points
Day 3: Really nice fruit emerging that was not as present on day one. Cherry, strawberries, floral and menthol. Much brighter wine and really is a Newer World offering from Ribera del Duero. I am wondering if since this wine was just shipped it needed some air to really open up. There will be a reward for 3 to 5 years of age or a day 3 hold. 93 +.

I wonder if this is the reason that I just got an email from WTSO telling me they're back to shipping to Illinois. I'll have to ask them for further information. I'm not interested in shipping to Wisconsin or Indiana and then going to pick it up.b. c@stner wrote:WTSO is now offering a "Hold at Fedex Location" shipping option. Just had my question answered by WTSO. They now have a warehouse space in Illinois where the shipments will be sent from. They'll charge sales tax now, but at least I get access to the wines I want. Excellent!

I bit on the 2014 Donatien Bahuaud Les Boires Chinon...not enough funk and too polished for Alfert but dang, killer qpr for $18.99 and absolutely worth grabbing if it appears again -- legit delicious goodness.

Some Robert Storey Dry Creek cabernet up right now. 2016. I've bought this two times before (previously Rutherford, not Dry Creek). Great QPR.

Haven't bought from WTSO in several years but would note that Hold at Fed Ex Pick Up Location may also include local Walgreens. I use both interchangably and find they work surprisingly well.

They have Vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills and the Santa Maria Valley.
This one was made by their previous winemaker, not their current one, Tyler Thomas, who was at Donelan post Pax.
Not sure what the Tariff is, but probably worth a flyer on a few.

The best customer service. Had a corked bottle and they offered either to send a new one or refund the purchase. Had it been fall would have resent it. Many deletes but when you cherry pick you win!

This looks like a good deal based upon CT notes from people I know, but you never know what an NV blend is. I have had good luck with champagnes from WTSO so I got some.

Now a supervisor jumps in since I responded to one of their emails and says the person who emailed me was wrong and I will get credits .
Last time I purchased from them was around a year ago so maybe they just want my business back ??

Re: Official WTSO thread
I can't make a purchase until i either accept or decline the offer, that just doesn't feel right.
