I am going to france the week of sept. 25
I would like to visit bordeaux and perhaps cognac, but do not want to join some cheesy tour group. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on where I could visit during harvest? I would like to see two or three quality chateaus and have some nice dinners as well. HELP

Most of the Chateau do not take visitors during harvest time. I am not sure you’ll have a lot of luck arranging visits then, but you can always try and contact them and see if you can get an appointment. While I think the best way to do it is to go through channels (rather than contacting them directly) e-mailing them directly may be your best bet at this point.
Which specific Chateaux do you want to visit?
