San Diego - who has the best wine programs?

curious on the current state of affairs. haven’t been in a while and it seem to be getting much better.

what are the top 5 place for “real” wine?

List at Juniper & Ivy was good enough (94 poco de lobos) . Online list not accurate, but they also allow corkage and there is a great wine shop across the street.

super helpful - thanks.

Food was really good too.

Call to get corkage details, btw. It was a little weird. I think 25$, limit 2. And 50$ for “Champagne or mags.”

Cucina Urbana has a decent program with outstanding prices.

Good food, too.

Can’t help you with wine but my favorite place to eat in San Diego is an authentic Yakatori spot called Hino and they have a great, albeit small, Sake program. Ignore the yelp reviews…trust me. I am on record saying San Diego is the most underperforming food scene in the U.S.

Philly would like to have a chat.

The major difference to me is the access to great ingredients and the overall prosperity of the community, San Diego should have a great food scene! The 2nd would be Boston!
