Has anyone been to Venice recently?

Greetings all! I know this topic has been covered before and even by me. I was just curious if anyone has any recent experience. As of now, we will be there in mid October.
Thanks in advance.

Chioggia.

An hour-15-minutes or so, gets you away from big, bad, noisy, crowded, ripoff Venice to this much smaller, alleys-and-canals, better beaches, quieter, quaint fishing town where the seafoods are much fresher, cheaper and deliciously-cooked homestyle.

edited to clarify: Venice is great. But a daytrip to Chioggia is one of our most memorable day spent when visiting Venice.

Well, as Venice is my favorite city in the world, I would disagree. (Although the Veneto is great, far from an either or proposition).

Luckily it’s not Marshall’s first rodeo.

I have friends that just go back after 10 days. They seemed to enjoy fewer tourists

We will be with a couple that has never been so I was curious if anyone has any post pandemic ideas or experience with the restaurants. We have some reservations at some of my favorites…just curious as to what we might encounter .

Cheers!
