North Scottsdale

I am going to be in North Scottsdale for a few days… Wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a good restaurant. I already have a steak place picked out.

My go-to for updated dining and travel recommendations.

How far north?

Welcome to AZ. What type of food are you looking for? There are excellent restaurants although most of them are further south.

Sorry for the delay… we will be in the Kierland area… Looking for Italian or Spanish restaurants.

For Italian:
Franco’s http://www.francosscottsdale.com/
North Italia Italian Restaurant in Scottsdale | North Italia
Marcellino https://marcellinoristorante.com/
Tratto (same owner as Pizzeria Bianco, although not in Scottsdale) Restaurant — TRATTO
Pomo https://www.pomopizzeria.com/

For Spanish:
Toro Toro | Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Tapas Papa Frita https://www.tapaspapafrita.com/

Might I also suggest Virtu, one of my favorites. Not technically Italian but some definite influences http://www.virtuhonestcraft.com/

Thank you!!

P- unfortunately Northern AZ doesn’t have the best selection of restaurants (not sure why but we don’t). David provided some good suggestions but keep in mind many of those restaurants are not considered north Scottsdale and Toro is Latin not Spanish (not sure if that does or doesn’t matter but there is another one (Latin) in the Westin Desseo).

Highly recommend Cafe Monarch (need to make reservations ASAP if interested (they also have a 10-15 course tasting restaurant called Reserve which is also very good). If you decide to go to either, ping me and I would be happy to reach out to the head Somm for you. https://www.cafemonarch.com/

Kai although in Chandler, is another great restaurant but is much further south. Fine Dining in Phoenix | Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass

A unique restaurant idea would be New Mexico restaurant called http://www.richardsonsnm.com/ and it’s more casual restaurant The Rokerij.

And a handful of others all highly recommended
-Roka Akor (Japanese Robata Grill- must get the Black Cod and the Brussels sprouts (best)
-Buck and Rider (fun seafood)
-Oceans 44 (formal seafood great ambiance)
-The Parlor (homemade pasta/pizza) casual but very very good
-Fat Ox (more formal Italian) pricey but excellent
-Hacienda at the princess (excellent high end Mexico City Mexican)
-Sumo Maya (Mexican/Asian trendy)
-Tom’s Thumb BBQ in a gas station (near gateway hike)
-Thai House on FLW
-Four Seasons Scottsdale, two restaurants Talavera and a casual Proof
-Binkleys

Ryan, Thanks for the ideas. A friend of mine also told me about Richardsons. I am from NM so I will try it next time I’m in town.
