Vegas Strip wine restaurants???

I am a Las Vegas native that left home 30 years ago. I get back there annually and know the city fairly well, but am looking for recommendations. I’ll be at a convention at the Mirage in May and am looking for restaurants with interesting wine lists that aren’t ridiculously priced. I’ll be entertaining biz associates and other than Aureole and Lotus I’ve found very little that excites me on restaurant lists. Not interested in big Napa cabs , and that seems to be the focus at the places I’ve visited.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the top restaurants have good lists; as far as finding values; I’m not sure the strip is the best place for that.

Try The Barrymore, the list is nicely priced by Las Vegas standards these days, and has plenty to pick from, IMO.

Take some bottles or make a trip to Total Wine. Your much better off paying the corkage in Vegas as most all places allow it. I like to pick my dining based on the food, unless the wine list pricing or selection is just insane. Vegas prices are insane but not the way we wish.

Thanks for the thoughts. Hadn’t considered corkage, but that may be the way to go.

I have not been here in Las Vegas but I have in Paris and NY. Great restaurant.

I host several business dinners a year at restaurants at the big strip casino hotels and have never had any trouble finding decent wines to order at decent prices no matter where we were. Yes, you will (usually) pay 2x retail. No, you won’t (usually) find geeked out berserker stuff. (But that’s not really what you want for a business dinner, is it?)

Allemand at Cut/Palazzo for $135 (!). Gonon at Bouchon/Venetian for $100. PYCM bourgogne blanc at Catch/Vdara for $80. Knoll Kellerberg at Jean Georges/Aria for $100. I think they buy wine for the whole resort and wonder if they are sharing cellars.

I don’t generally get to pick the restaurant but wherever our event planners make the booking, I will email the concierge ahead of time and request the list so I don’t have to screw around trying to read the thing in the dark.

I’m all for dragging the wine check on an overseas trip where I can bring back a haul but for domestic travel no way am I checking a bag with wine for a biz dinner.

I missed that the trip was business, so maybe corkage wouldn’t be appropriate? There was an article in WS recently that described the system a bit and they do have master cellars where all the resorts restaurants can share from the same pool. Obviously then they can add based on what they need but the base is always there.

agreed, Atelier is great, but I didn’t think the wine list was as great/interesting

It was excellent in Paris and New York IMHO

Been a few years but finally heading back. Staying at Aria.
Any new restaurants work checking out on the strip? Anything at Resorts World?
Been to many restaurants over the years and it got a little boring.
Lately I’ve liked Sage at Aria and Andres-Bazaar Meats. Think about Guy Savoy this time as I’ve never been.
Also don’t see much on corkage. Anywhere besides Bouchon and Delmonico that doesn’t limit to two bottles?

An interesting place at Resorts World is the Vegas Wally’s. It’s really a restaurant with a wine shop. Menus are online. Eataly in Park MGM is a short walk for you; basically a higher end food court; also has a wine shop. Some of the newer places are west of the Strip or in Summerlin.
