Restaurants in Dolomites area?

Spending a week hiking there in July- looking for ideas in Cortina, Bolzano, and surrounding…any thoughts on lodging too would be great – we have 3 free days after staying mostly in Cortina. Thanks in advance!

Lots of great options, it really depends on where you are going.
We just spent a week in San Cassiano (Val Badia) lots of great restaurants there , St hubertus, Stua de Michil and Siriola (all inside great hotels). About 40 minutes from Cortina.
otherwise if you are looking at North of Bolzano you have to go to Pretzhof for lunch, great experience

Thanks! We are actually in San Cassiano 2 nights so this is great.

Huge recommendations for the Dorfhotel beludei in santa cristina and the almhotel col raiser. Lovely hotels owned by the same family with great food and wine. Also try to get to rifugio emilio comici if you can.

Loved our stay and dinner at Terra a couple years ago. Up in the hills near some gorgeous hikes (not that those are hard to find!). Terra - The Magic Place | Dolomites Italy | Michelin Star Restaurant

In Bolzano.

About 15 min outside of Bolzano. Sorry the website is down for maintenance.

Thanks!

Hey Stefan - We stayed in San Vito di Cadore (2017) and loved Ago. Great wine list (Foradori, Hoffstater, Dettori, Bonavita, Roagna) and very creative/inventive food, in an intimate setting.

Wonderful hike to Lago di Sorapis, very close to Cortina.

We did hutte to hutte hiking (also known as rifugios). The food was amazing for the locations. I would recommend it. Especially for food, I recommend Rifugio Averau, Rifugio Fuciade, Rifugio Bolzano/Schlernhaus, and Rifugio Alpe di Tires
