Sonoma County Winery/Restaurant Suggestions?

#1 Post by Jeff Twersky »

We'll be in Sebastopol at the end of April. It has been more years than I want to admit and I assume that newer wineries and restaurants have popped up in the meantime. Any and all suggestions for wine tastings and restaurants in Sonoma County, definitely not limited to Sebastopol, are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Salt and Stone in Kenwood (used to be the Kenwood Restaurant) is very popular.

Canneti Roadhouse Italiana in Forestville is great.

Went to Walter Hansel Bistro in Santa Rosa over the weekend. Great place when they can go full service. Right now it’s 25% capacity, paper napkins, disposable menus, outdoor stemware and a limited menu.

There are new spots but you can’t dine in anywhere until just this week so we haven’t been out at all.

Tasted Littorai, Ironhorse, Williams Selyem, Kosta Brown, and apparently newer Flowers tasting room off Westside Rd. Enjoyed Littorai and Ironhorse the most.

It’s fancy southern food. The short of it is that we liked it. I would compare it as an edgy Austin TX like southern. There are two breweries and a wine by the glass tasting room within a few steps so you’ll be good for the night there.

My two favorites (for fancy dinner) are Sigle Thread and The Farmhouse Inn.

Single Thread 👍. Memorable meal but pricey.

I did Farmhouse Inn right when they reopened. Great people, food and service. It was a bucket list type dinner with a bucket list price.

Farmhouse Inn was a bargain after having a dinner at Meadowood, and feeling slightly violated with that bill....... And frankly, more enjoyable, with better wine pairings. Can't wait to go back.

We did have a couple traveling with us and Farmhouse was our preplanned blow out dinner for the week. We didn’t eat at any other Michelin restaurants on the trip. Good to know it was a good decision relative to other options. We stayed there and the owner joined our tastings both nights we went. Croix and Peay poured there.

Great ambiance, service, food but it’s a mere drop in the Single Thread Farm bucket. Prices at that place are freaking ridiculous.

Thanks all.

I think that I've been to the Blue Ridge Kitchen years ago. At least I remember eating at a place in The Barlow that may have been the Blue RIdge. Anyway, I've booked a reservation there, and at Khom Loi.

I would never have thought of Iron Horse, but think we'll give that a try as the last tasting of the day. Ending the day with some sparkling wine just strikes me as a fun idea. We've probably only got one day for tastings, so I've also booked Dutton Estate and Ridge Lytton Springs (my wife's favorite so a must). Hopefully we can work in another half day for tastings. The number of wineries is daunting.

Blue Ridge opened last July. You probably ate at Zazu.

Could easily have been. All I remember is having lunch at a place in The Barlow that served Pliny, which I can't get in WA anymore, before heading to the airport for the plane back to Seattle.

Ate at Blue Ridge Kitchen and Khom Loi. Both were very good.

Tasted at Ridge Lytton Springs, Dutton Estate, and Iron Horse. The view at Iron Horse made it worth the visit.

We are going to Barn Diva next week. It is a pretty limited menu but they appear to have a nice outdoor set up.
