Matthew and Chris -- any update on when the pay for wine with points feature will be back up and running? I've been emailing without a response.

I had issues ordering wine last week. As I suggested a few posts up, it's time for these people to get a new webmaster. I say this as a constructive criticism.

I'd recommend giving Chris a ring (phone number on ProofLoyalty site). I just spoke to him and got my order placed over the phone. Sounds like they are heeding your advice on the new webmaster, so hopefully the integration is fixed in the relatively near future.

Dan...I have been frustrated with redemption and with plenty of other cards figured I would cancel, particularly with annual fee coming up. Upon calling, the rep said I had no annual fee for life...surprised. Still moved forward with canceling.

Interesting, just called to cancel and they said you did it just in time to not get the annual fee charged. It was a good deal, getting close to 1000 of value back even when they missed delivery for BD12 last year.

I e-mailed them to discuss my displeasure with not being able to order wines through the online portal, and to cancel if I'd be charged a fee for the next year. They said they'd waive the annual fee. Nothing about "no fee for life", maybe that was a perk for Monopole Members. Matthew Goldman, can you confirm/discuss the no fee for life terms please?

It appears the Grand Reserve Card/program is closing, based on an email I just received. Will close on March 9th, 2022.

Maybe too much of a niche for a credit card?

Seems like it. I'd imagine there could be a higher ratio of affluence for people interested in a wine awards credit card versus your traditional awards card from say, Bank of America or Chase. Grand Reserve might not have been generating lot of revenue via interest/late fees and were relying more on transaction fees. Not sure how sustainable of a business model that is, especially if the population of card holders is on the lower end given how niche the market is.

It was great when the Vault had outsized redemption value, but once that went away all redemptions were 0.6 cents per point.
That being the case I appreciate the easy 0.8 cent per point cashout they're offering for unredeemed points (via virtual debit card once they close all cards).

All things considered I'd say it was a good year with the card.

So am I. It was nice having a rewards card dedicated to wine and prime beef. The rewards were nice too, I ended up with 50 new wine glasses. 24 Gabriel Glas, 20 Glas Vin and 6 Grassl.

I took my e-card, punched the number into my credit card software and pulled the cash from the till. Easy peasy!

I added it as a payment method on Amazon and then bought a gift card for the exact amount

I received a direct deposit into my checking account. It took 3 days. They used a third party called Vertical Finance.
