Noah, clear your schedule for Aug 21-23 and come up to Watkins Glenn for some old fashioned fun at Magnaball.

FTR: my first show was 6/22/94.

And I met Mike Gordon at a bar in New York during medical school during another band's concert and chatted him up for 20 minutes. It was Brooklyn. I was the ONLY person who recognized him.
Mine was 3/12/93 at the Flynn in Burlington VT. We used to see the guys (Jon, Trey, etc) on the streets in Burlington all the time. Just hanging out. Used to, um, party with them too once upon a time. Great early shows. Sad to miss them live and local.

For the love of God, please don't turn this into a phish thread. I'm having flashbacks to July of being in the car with Dabrowski for 40 mins listening to what seemed like one long phish song. I considered steering the car into oncoming traffic, but had a change of heart.

Noah -- Happy Birthday to Maddie!

I might be able to stop by Domaine later in the afternoon if people are still there... but not quite sure.

And unfortunately I'll be out the next two weekends, so if I don't make it out -- see you in mid-October! [cheers.gif]

That's actually pretty funny...we've certainly opened a lot of wines from many of those producers on Saturdays or at dinners...though Coche, Roumier, or Raveneau haven't made an appearance on a Saturday as far as I recall...yet [cheers.gif]

Does this mean we've all turned into wine nerds?

count me in! bringing a bottle i brought back from california specifically for you guys!

also -- would anyone be interested in doing a cru beaujolais comparison? nothing fancy, scientific or formal. but i've been curious to taste a morgon against a fleurie against a moulin-a-vent, etc.

If so, I can see what Weygandts has on my way in... or maybe we plan this for another time. or maybe i just do a home tasting on my own.

Thoughts?
