Leoville Poyf, Clos Fourt and more: 24 March in Frankfurt

If anyone is in Frankfurt (Germany :wink: on Thursday 24 March, please come to a five-course dinner tasting with 10 wines from Leoville Poyferre (1989, 1990 and 2000), Clos Fourtet (1990, 1998, 2001), Poujeaux (2004, 2007) and Le Crock (2005, 2003) with owners Didier Cuvelier (LP and Le Crock) and Matthieu Cuvelier (Clos Fourtet and Poujeaux). I will moderate the evening, which will include five full course servings to accompany the wines. More details below, cost is only 89 euros per person. A similar evening the next day in Berlin, I will soon be posting more details for Berlin on Friday 25 March.

Sounds awesome…too bad I have zero chance of making this though. The 1990 Leo Poy is probably the best wine I have ever had.

1990 Leoville Poyferre for a landmark birthday. Consumed over 2 nights with a 375 recork tonight, this is a wonderful St. Julien. Fully mature and nicely textured, no need to wait on this any longer.

Interesting, I wouldn’t have guessed about the Leo Poyf; lovely dinner–but no chance for me either, sadly.

I was hoping this was Kentucky!
