I'll take September 2013 unless something opens up earlier.

I will take September 15, 2021, a Wednesday. My 70th Birthday. I already own a few of the wines we will be drinking.

Ooh, can I get June 2014? I'll finally get to host a tasting in a month when the weather's Riesling friendly! [wow.gif]

Yes, it looks like you would be approximately "due" so I will put you down for June.

Gil,

I would be happy to host September 2014. August can be difficult due to travel, etc.

Leo's Blind Tasting Club - Summary Schedule

I have updated the first post with the proposed schedule through the end of "round 4" which takes us out to April 2015. I have sent this information via email previously, but based on discussions at last night's dinner, have now "published" it here. If there are questions, issues, conflicts, etc. please let me know.

If Steve, Alan and Leo don't mind keeping the rotation from the last set of dinners (I had slipped in ahead of them due to an open slot) I would be delighted to take May 2015.

If they would like to return to the more traditional rotation then I'd be happy to take September 2015 (I'd rather not do August).

I actually skipped ahead last time too, from April 2014 to December 2013, because Jay H. was nice enough to help me out with a scheduling issue. I'm happy to go either earlier or later. Gil, is either way easier for you to track?

Since we are set through April 2015 (end of "round 4), I didn't feel a need to schedule further at this point. The "tracking" is not difficult for me in any case (I have a spreadsheet; I have even sent it to most/all of you). If people would like to make requests (like Jay M. above) that's fine -- Salil has also requested his "round 5" be in the summer of 2015 based on his thesis schedule etc. I will always try to accommodate preferences/requests -- I just don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves.

No problem, I can wait. I just started to plan the wines for my next dinner so I was checking how far away it was.

To pile on, I'd like to volunteer for October 2015. I'd prefer not to have a summer month, if there are folks that will step up.

Gil - could I take May or June 2015, as per our earlier discussion?

I'm happy with summer months... might have a white wine or two to open for warm weather tastings.

I'd like to get in there again - can I have Sept 2015? Or I can take July if no one else wants to plan a hot-weather dinner.

Nice try Ben but by my count at least 4 people ahead of you in the queue (Salil, Alan, Leo and me).

Ha! And they said it wouldn't last. Somewhere I think that I agreed to give Salil June 2016 so that he could have his swan song before he gets a real job, but I'm not sure about that.

I have updated the first post. It now reflects the schedule through the end of Round 6 -- and the end of 2017. I circulated a spreadsheet via email among the group to approve the draft of this schedule -- if anything looks wrong or problematic. Please let me know.

Bump. Make it easier to find. Should we offer up Leo's slot at auction.
