2019 Vintage - Bordeaux En Primier tasting scheduled - sort of.

We received notice from one of our Bordeaux suppliers that the organization responsible for the En Primeur tasting and then release is attempting a organized manner to get the 2019 vintage into the market.

From the current DECANTER,
…"However, the two organisations said today (21 April) that they hoped to issue a revised plan for this year’s en primeur tastings on 11 May, or near to that date.

They did not confirm any details, but they said they were considering a ‘one-off’ format that could include inviting critics, journalists and merchants to taste barrel samples of the 2019 vintage in small groups, in Bordeaux and in other cities around the world.

For more details you can read the Decanter article or UGCB notice.

So essentially some of the Chateaux will work with UGCB to bring their wines to several settings for the trade press to taste.
The point is they need to bring to market and generate cash flow.
The financial pain being experienced by all sectors of wine and Champagne producers who are still laying out cash for farming and all of their suppliers for bottles, corks, printing, labels and every other usual expense is forcing some formidable labels to seek assistance from their bank.

I’m so curious who will be offering any ‘deals’.
