I have the 2016 PAX that got the high scores or an older Lagier Meredith Syrah? Requests? Could also bring a Bonny Doon BN Syrah 12 or 13 to go with Robert's 10. Let me know if anyone has a preference.
Both of those sound good. I have a few of those Pax's left in the cellar. Haven't tasted one in over a year. 2nd Alan's request for Tomatoes...

Our default theme is: DRC and other wines that will go well with the food.
You left out the Coche-Dury, Wes.....
Yeah.....on purpose. Getting tired of that stuff.

I am not sure I will have the time to get down and pick, but if I do, do folks want enough to process?

Unfortunately something came up today at work, I'll be having to work late on Monday (and tomorrow, and this weekend, and all of next week) so I'm afraid I have to bail. Hope there is someone that can fill my spot.

Sandi does have some German ancestry, but I wasn't planning on bringing Riesling.

Then I will bring a Reisling. She's a 21 year old named St. Catherine from Weinbach.

If their wine list is online, check and make sure the Barbaresco isn’t on it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Tomatoes are packed. If anyone has any styrofoam full case shippers they want re-used I could use a few more. Thanks.

Really enjoyed the evening. Still thinking about the mystery Granache Rose and the lovely and chewy Dehlinger Pinot. The bottle should have been a hint. My favorite of the night was the Larose.

Wes - that was a fun bottle. Never heard of Sandar and Hem. Where are they located? Thanks everyone for a great evening! I think my favorites were the 86 Gruaud Larose and the 97 Bien Nacido.

Sneak preview. That's my friend Rob Bergstrom. He's in other tasting groups with some of us, and has joined our Berserker OLs a few times, and comes to our Monte Bello picnics. Huge Santa Crux Mountains and Burg fan. It's my fault he caught the winemaking bug. After getting him some hands on experience, his interested was such that I encouraged him to take the UC Davis Winemaking Certification program (which is very science heavy, but he has a doctorate in microbiology). He then worked harvest at Rhys, then at Mount Eden and got a lot of vineyard and winery experience elsewhere, too.

His label is solely dedicated to Santa Cruz Mountains fruit, with an emphasis on Chardonnay, with a top site from each microclimate. Right now he's making Cabernet Sauvignon and the Grenache rose from Bates Ranch, two Pinot Noirs and five Chardonnays.

I've tasted through the '18s and they're mighty impressive. Expect focused, mineral-driven, site expressive wines. My joke above about being tired of tasting Coche-Dury was a nod to tasting quite a bit. I've learned a lot helping out there, including how certain domaines solved premox - funny that all the pieces of the problem and solutions are common knowledge, but putting them together is another issue. (<---That's a hint.)

Agree with Wes that Ian makes some great wine from that site (I. Brand). Have any of you had the Ghostwriter Bates Cab? I tried it last year and really liked it.

Non-commercial prototype/benchmark. Wouldn't go calling it that. Mine are Ch. Libraville-Barton.
