My first offline. Would Ultramarine BdB be acceptable? Bring my own stemware? Will $100 cover food, space and service?
It's $250 per person. I handle the money.

So either bring something better than domestic sparkling or bring $250. Seems fair to me🍷.

Robert he's joking. I'd love to try the Ultramarine and maybe I'll learn why everyone is nuts about it LOL.

Did George just refer to himself in the third person?

I'd like to get a count so I can give Divino sufficient notice on the size. As of now, we're 19. The res is for 14. I'd like to let them know by Weds.

If you or your guest are NOT attending, please reply on this thread. No need to respond if you're going.

Yes. I think we had 15 or 16 last time and we fit no problem. I'm going to contact them at lunch to bump the res to 18 from 14. I'll let you all know what they say.

I'm bringing a magnum.

The 97 Argiano Solengo (several occasions) is a perfectly balanced, and nearly perfect overall, wine. It would be very fun for me to try the Brunello.

Is anyone bringing a white?

I'll bring a Rieussec for dessert, but don't have anything Italian at home that's ready... I could bring an Austrian GV/Riesling or red Bordeaux, though...

As far as theme...

Andy, let's do our '09 Foillard horizontal. You bring 3.14 and I'll bring Cote du Py and Fleurie.
I'm not Andy nor do I have any '09 Foillard, but I can bring '09 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette so your Foillard Fleurie has some company. Cool?

Chris, we're not doing that this round because 18 people. Andy and I definitely want to do that, but with our usual 12-14 folks. I'm bringing a mag of '11 Foillard Cote du Py to Divino. FYI, I have '09 Cuvee Tardive and '05 Fleurie.

I'm gonna make a different suggestion: this is a giant offline, bottles will be opened and swilled quickly. It's kind of a shame IMO to open something really nice and just have it poured quickly, spat, poured out, and move on to something else. I suggest bringing something enjoyable that you want to share, but it doesn't have to be a cherry.

Well I got the jitters. Opened up one cool one and it was good and then pressed my luck and opened up a dud. 🤦‍♂️

1/3 in baseball is basically all star 🎉

Anyways I tried and I guess my 2 bad bottles can be educational or we can give them to the newbies 😂. I can already hear half the table saying my mag isn’t corked.

That was Yao. I was hoping to change my mind this time. Nope. Exact same reaction. Not my style. Especially next to the 1990 Taittinger Artist Collection which wasn't necessarily better but very much what I like .
