FYI, a few of us are going...

Island Creek Oyster Bar in Burlington MA is doing a dinner tasting wines from all 10 different Cru Beaujolais villages, from 2-5PM on Sunday November 18th.

"Join us on Sunday, November 18th and spend the afternoon touring this often overlooked and misunderstood region of France. Ten wine professionals will be on hand to help you learn about the nuances and regional differences of the 10 Crus which make Beaujolais so diverse and delicious. Chef Matt Celeste will be providing perfectly paired bistro fare. A great way to find wines for your Thanksgiving table!"

Tickets in advance are $60 via EventBrite (or $75 at the door):

This sounds fun.

It was! Apparently this was the 2nd annual event. 31 different wines from all 10 cru villages in nice Burgundy glasses. And they also served a reasonable selection of cheese & charcuterie, and some little canapés from the kitchen (loved the tiny salmon johnnycakes with white sturgeon caviar).

It was a fun, educational event, particularly if you've never had a chance to taste wines from all 10 crus side-by-side. More than half of the wines could be ordered from Wine Press in Brookline MA.

Great idea! Very under represented and underappreciated region here in Toronto.
