17 of 26 looks New World to me. Unless I miscounted.
Based on style of the wine I don't think it's that high

So if I open a 2010 Clos des Papes where does that fall?

This is a good example...old world producer, newer world style...maybe. I'd still consider old world, but that's just me and maybe it's why I felt Saturday's list was more "old world" as opposed to Joe.

But back to what Joe said...does it really matter? It's a bunch of geeks getting together over wine. Can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.

Old World New World...if it is wet, let's drink it!

Last night was awesome. Thank you John for organizing and sponsoring. Scott thanks for the Silex and I thought the champagnes were all very nice. Have a great time tonight. The lineup looks awesome. Also thanks to Simon for the 85 Dom P to end the evening.

John - thanks again for hosting a terrific event at Grailey's. What a great place, and the 'cue was on point. Great discussions with Tom, Craig, Joe, Brian, Darin, Jorge, John, Todd, and more. What a great group and so glad we finally made it to an event. And the '85 Dom which Simon popped at the end of the night...killer! Thanks again to you all for including us and bringing such great wines!

Fabulous dinner last night! Lot's of great wine (some leftovers from Friday, too!). The food was excellent - almost as great as the company. Thanks, John and Katie, for inviting us into your home. And it was a pleasure to meet our larger than life King Berserker, Todd!

I’ve had a family emergency, I’ll post more pics later. This was taken early, about a third of what we opened.
Surprises of the night:
Piper rare was amazing-Champers with brisket rocks.
2000 Pichon Baron was SO unbelievably young-I wish we had blinded it to really make fools of ourselves guessing the vintage.
The SQN red was big, but not as big as you might think.
The Rhône Grenache Blanc was probably the most talked about wine of the night.

Craig, hope everything is okay with the family. I posted some photos above.

Echoing all the sentiments above! Thank you to John & Katie and every other Berserker I met in the past 48 hours for making this an awesome weekend! A little sad I didn’t get to meet José though. Maybe next time.

Good thing Jose was a no-show - otherwise you would have not had a seat at the table! [cheers.gif]

For those unaware, Jose is Jorge's better looking and more interesting brother. I'd hoped he'd show instead of Jorge, but alas. Great time with everyone. What a great group that all got together on both Friday and Saturday night. I'll figure out how to get some pics posted. Something like 64 bottles over the two nights. What a treat. Thank you all for your generosity. It was a blast getting to try so many neat wines, and getting a chance to visit with each of you.

John- thank you for a great Friday event, perfectly arranged, and the introduction to Grailey's. And to all- thanks for a terrific evening of great wine and good company.

Let's do it again in a year!
