Jill and I are interested. Not sure I own any Spanish wine, pero, sin te gusta, puedo hablar para el groupo durante nuestra fiesta! If we can attend, Mark, does it have to come from Spain or can it be something that is comparable? We can't do weekend of 1/28.
My WOTY candidates for 2019:
2014 Marie Courtin Eloquence BdB Extra Brut
2017 Rivers-Marie PN Platt SC
2017 Kutch Pinot Noir SC PN
2009 Roederer Cristal Brut
2017 Carlisle Zin Mancini Ranch RRV

My best wines of 2018:
2017 Kutch Falstaff Sonoma Coast PN
2012 Marguet La Grande Ruelle Ambonnay

Kindness matters.

Frank we can easily cover your wines if this comes to fruition.

And the good news about Spanish wines, are that they've got some pretty good recent vintages!

My wife and I can probably make a mid-January date. I do have some wines from España so we can coordinate as we progress.

Sahba and I are likely ok with either date. I think it was Scott W. and Andrea that had issues with 1/13. We will clear our calendar for you and Brad, or at leasts until something better comes along.

Mark: Diana and I are very interested. Our only issue would be the date of the annual LMU tasting. It is usually late January but I do not know the date yet for 2017.

Cheers!

I'm interested, but my January is busy. The only weekend I currently have free is the 14th.

(I clearly need to look at this forum more often....)

We're in if Jan 7 or 21!

You gonna have a lawn by then? ;)

Will know more by end of month. If not done, we'll look to lift and shift to March.... waiting for some project milestones with contractor.

So make the event a Spanish wine, tapas, and landscaping party!

Well, we are still available the 13th, but now the 14th (Saturday) is booked for a work party, and the odds of a babysitter TWO nights in a row is slim-to-none. That said...the weekends of the 7th and 21st are open, and so far the month of March.

I assume we're waiting for the landscaping and 'California Room' to be completed for this to happen, but I now have some VERY interesting Spanish wine to bring for it, should it happen!

Hey Mark,

It turns out that my wife will have to stay at home to babysit so my son can attend. You can open another spot on the list. (Don't worry she will make the pot luck dish for us to bring anyway!)

We are really looking forward to this get together!

I got my bottles this week, Mr Jones. I did end up scoring a bottle from the Canary Islands, based on Greg T's remark over Wine Talk to my post there a few weeks ago.

Look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks.

How many servings should the dish we bring serve? [scratch.gif]

On servings, I'm guessing if it's enough to feed 8-12 is sufficient, similar to what folks do for Falltacular.

We're about at capacity (we think, since this will be the first party at our house!). If there's anyone else in SoCal that's interested in joining - please let me know in the next day or so.

I am wondering if we ought to toss around some ideas as to what to bring so we can avoid too much duplication. A couple of people bringing the same thing should be fine but I think we may need to guard against 4 or 5 people bringing the same dish? I was thinking of bringing Gazpacho. I don't think we need to get super formal about who brings what but if you have an idea what you want to bring it might help narrow down the choices a little. Do you agree Mark?
