I just had the pre-event call with Bryan and Katie and this is going to be spectacular! They are bringing a wide variety of meats, and we're going to get to beta test a cut they haven't even tried...
Hope you have good internet connection so we can place orders while we eat [welldone.gif]

Paid and looking forward to this event and meeting some more Berserkers. Last Berserkers event was probably 6 years ago and Yoni's B-day party. I usually hang out and participate on the CT forums.

Now the wine. I have a mag of '06 Martinelli Syrah "Chico's Hill" -I may bring that and a back-up bottle.

Is anyone else declaring wines?

Good to get you out from your rock, Patrick champagne.gif

I'd like some wine declarations! I plan on a mag of '01 Mondavi Reserve Cab, but figure there might be plenty of cab there, so I'm keeping my options open as I can fill in whatever's needed, based on what I have anyway...

Mag of 2006 Booker Fracture, a couple of backups and stopping at Monkish for a growler of their latest IPA. Also bringing a Firestone 14th anniversary bottle and some other goodies.

I also loved the pork rib caps. I didn't get a chance to taste many of the wines, but the 92 Dunn was delicious and fully-mature.

thank you to everyone for the generosity involved -- Todd for hosting, the Flannerys for the meat -- loved everything including the pork rib caps which were outrageously fatty and rich when warm right off the grill, and everyone who brought some really great wine. As a newbie, it was really cool to taste some wine that I otherwise would never have tried. I had some of the dregs of the 92 Dunn haha, and it was still really great, deep and complex. Also greatly appreciated getting to try the 1988 Chateau Musar red, probably the oldest wine I've had thus far; the Corison cab; finally getting to try EMH Black Cat cab, 2007, after reading so much about it on the board; Veronica's very generous magnum of vintage Champagne and also the Tempier Bandol rose with some age on it; in fact all the magnums (plural magna?), of wines that I had heard about like the Pride Merlot and Kutch pinot. Hope everyone got back home safely.

Thank you to Todd and Jen for hosting in your beautiful home and also Bryan and Katie! Had a great time. Looking down the barrel of so many great wines it's hard to pick a winner but that 1990 Bollinger Grande Année and the pork rib caps will take a backseat to no one.

I'd just like to add my thanks to Todd and Jen for hosting and to Bryan for contributing some really excellent meat. It was my first offline since moving back to SoCal and my first experience with Flannery meats. I enjoyed them both!

My favorite wines for the day were the mag of Vilmart and the Bourgogne that Josh brought.

Great meeting you all!

What a great day! Thank you again Todd for putting this together! A huge thank you to Bryan and Katie for your continued generosity toward the WB community! The wine was unreal...too many to list. The meat was out of this world. A side note...Venison mac and cheese was damn good! [cheers.gif]

As expected, I didn't get to try hardly any of the wines, one of the Flannery cuts, nor the venison Mac n' Cheese (maybe I can get our new neighbors - Mark and Brad - to make it again for us!)

Eric's wines were amazing, thank you for letting us 'help' you drink down your cellar!

Thanks to you ALL for a wonderful event - it's often difficult to have 40-some people at your house, but it felt like family, and everybody treated each other with respect. A great time was had, and in the 2 hour conversation Jen and I had with Bryan and Katie (and Veronica!) once everybody left (we stayed up until 1:30 am!) I know they had an amazing time as well, and before leaving the next day, said they wanted to start planning the next one!
