Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Forum rules
Not 'Rules', necessarily, but here's how BerserkerDay goes:
I'll be launching offers in groups of 8-10, in increments of 30 minutes. Sponsors will stay pegged at the top of the forum all day, each new group of offers will come in at the top with them for their launch grouping, cycling into the 'normal' thread after their launch time has passed, with a new launch group posted atop the thread thereafter. Discussion is encouraged, as posting replies moves the thread up to the top of the grouping, whether that is during launch time group or the 'regular' forum.
Keep checking in every 30 minutes for new offers being posted, and keep scrolling down to see everything that has been launched throughout the timeframe in which you've been on the forum, which hopefully is ALL DAY

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Chris,
Sorry if this has been asked.
Is the decanter the same format as the glasses? I guess I am trying to ask if it is as thin and light.

I need more glassware like I need a hole in my head, but grabbed a 6 pack of the tasting glass.

Travis - yes, the decanter is very light. It may weigh less than some of the glasses.

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
***As an aside, the tasting kit for individuals isn't meant to be a work-around to a pricing nuance today. They are designed to be returned to me after you've experimented with the glasses and decanter. They are not a final sale item. One per person please...****

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
I have found our Zaltos to be very durable, but I have still broken a few over the years. I ordered some Grassl 1855s and Libertes as replacements for our Bordeaux and Universals. Based on everyone’s positive feedback on the Grassls and the lower price, it is an easy decision. I also ordered the tasting glass set.

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Definitely going in on some Grassl glass the BerserkerDay! They sound amazing and Chris your personal touch on service is inspiring. Nice job. Just need to sort through what I need. The sampler means I can try them all, send them back but can credit that to a purchase? Just want to make sure I’m not dreaming, that sounds awesome.

Yes, the tasting KIT (not tasting glasses) was designed to be a 'try before you buy' model. Sadly, I wasn't as clear on that as I should have been. It isn't the 'deal of the day' as some have mistaken it to be.
You order it: $50.00. Covers the shipping to and from..Label inside to return it in 2 weeks. If you buy stems (6 Vigneron or 12 tasting room stems), I'll remove $50.00 from the sample kit as a courtesy.

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Ordered 8 each of the 1855 and Liberté. I spent some time this afternoon doing “housekeeping” on the China cabinet, moving most of the Riedels down to the bar area in the basement!

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Chris,
Its been awhile and I've resorted to drinking out of plastic cups due to numerous broken Zaltos.
I'm in for a case of Grassl: 4 each of Mineralité, 1855, and Cru. And a decanter
I sill am using the Gabriel Golds..those haven't broken, yet. I think those are most similar to the Liberte? Or should I give those a try also?
Best, Joe

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Dr. Schenck - good to hear from you - yes, Liberté is as though a GGG and a ZUniversal had a child. Has the hips of the GGG and the neck/chimney of the ZU.
Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
first BD purchase
2x of each Liberte, 1885 and Cru
Was eyeing Zaltos but after all the rave reviews on the Grassl line I pulled the trigger on these 6 stems.
Thanks!

Just added some Liberte--LOVE both our 1855s and Cru. Only fitting to give whites the same treatment! Ordering is easy and customer service is top-notch! No-brainer offer IMO!

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Thanks Chris. Took advantage of the opportunity and bought one of my buddies a Grassl decanter. He is hung up on the inverted mushroom shape on his current decanters, and I have been promising to get him a decanter that he can actually pour out of. and while I was at it, I got one too!

Chris, my order is in. Your hands on and realistic customer service approach is much appreciated and deserves to be supported. This does fill a need and I was able to try them out tasing with Marcus Goodfellow. Can’t wait to use them at home.

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
I do not need more glasses, yet I'm still tempted to buy backups at this price point, and try the decanter, even though we have, like, 8 decanters already. Sooo tempting and can attest that Chris is THE BEST to work with. Absolutely above and beyond with his each of the half dozen or more orders I've placed with him over the years.

For those scuffling with orders - go back to the main page (first post) - and you will see screenshots of how to place glasses on backorder. Again, please, if you wish to purchase in stock and out of stock items, break those orders up into two orders so I can ship what is available and print/hold what is in the container.
Thank you for the orders!

I ordered 1 of each of the 4 glasses to try (not the tasting glass). I also bought the decanter. It seems the glasses are $5 more this year but oddly the decanter is $20 less. Works out the same for me in the end.

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
Correct. Last year we sold the glasses at a loss after accounting for shipping/boxes/labor. The $5.00 keeps me whole. It seems the glasses are $5 more this year but oddly the decanter is $20 less.
The decanter frankly hasn't sold well. I wanted to see if a lower # would result in an increase in volume. It truly is that simple.

Curious to hear folks' thoughts on Cru vs. 1855. I saw the specs, but am curious what experiences have revealed.

Hi Chris,
Specs give the size of the decanter, but I didn't see the capacity (volume). Just curious - I ordered it anyway.
Thanks,
Joel

Re: Grassl Glasses (and a few Zaltos)
I've heard that dishwasher is actually the preferred method for super light hand blown stems, but I don't really get it. I feel like the dishwasher is a much more "high pressure" and risky environment than a gentle wash with a wine stem brush and hang dry... what am I missing?

I hope the price drop does work.... I know Marcus has posted on the glasses, but we love the decanter you sent us too!!!
Really, this is the MOST FUNCTIONAL DECANTER I have ever used. We poured from it during the big walk around tastings for IPNC last year. I thought tasting pours from any decanter in that setting would be a train wreck, but with the Grassl it was a piece of cake.
