#1 Post by Michael Weiss » January 17th, 2019, 2:53 pm

Balanced Wine Selections is back for our fourth year supporting Berserker Day with two ways to take advantage of this exceptional deal that is made exclusively to Berserkers. Shipping is always included when shipping at least 6-bottles in a carton. Thank you for your business and continued support.

  • If you’ve enjoyed our wines before and want to go back for more or have your eye on certain specific selections, use Discount Code BD at checkout to receive the discount on all our wines. Or you can PM or EMAIL me directly with your order - ‪https://balancedwineselections.com.

  • If you are interested in exploring our producers, but aren’t quite sure where to cast your lot, we’ve done the legwork and have put together Twenty-Eight, 6-bottle Discovery Packs that are all discounted from our regular bottle prices. You can PM or EMAIL me directly with your request or click this link http://bit.ly/BDDPs to purchase them online.
Our entire selection has been direct imported by us from Austria, France, Italy and Spain. Everything you see on the site is in stock and ready to ship -- depending on weather of course. Here’s a small taste of what we’ve got:
  • Great Burgundy from Rossignol-Trapet, Bertrand Machard de Gramont, Jean Guiton, Pavelot and Newman.
  • Cornas, St. Joseph, Condrieu, St. Peray and Cote Rotie from Julien Cecillon, Julien Pilon, Johann Michel and P et C Bonnefond.
  • Austrian Riesling and Gruner Veltliner from Türk, Eder, Gritsch and Schneeweis.
  • Albariño and Mencia from Val de Lenda, Decima, Cazoga, Cabaleiro do Val, Frieira, O Parral, and Rozas.

First come, first served, while supplies last. Buy early and buy often.

Sale is good for all wines on our website. No other discounts apply and does not apply to prior purchases. Sale is valid from 7:00am PST Sunday, January 27th thru Midnight PST on Sunday, January 27th.

(Early purchasing is available to all Grand Cru Crü members from 8:00am PST Saturday, January 26th thru 5:00pm PST on Saturday, January 26th.

Quite a wide range of selections there, giving your Austrian Rieslings 6 pack a spin.

I'm looking at that same one, Rich. In the middle between the Riesling pack and the Gruner/Riesling pack. (No, both is not the solution!)

Hell yeah, I've been *very* happy with Michael's selections of Gruner and Nebbiolo (Valtellina et al) wines through a few prior orders. Although my cellar overfloweth, in the spirit of both BerserkerDay and Ahnold... ahl be beck!

Of course "both" is a solution - perhaps not the only one, but the most Berserkerest one fo' shizzle.

Thanks for the Discovery Pack order, Brian.
The Champagnes from Calsac are killers!
And, of course, I'm rather fond of Michael's Favorite Wine Discovery Pack ------

I've been ordering from Balanced Wines for years, (even before I knew about Berskers) and just put in another. Love this importer!

My order was:
Étienne Calsac Les Rocheforts Terroir de Bisseuil 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs NV (2016)
Étienne Calsac Les Rocheforts Terroir de Bisseuil 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne, NV (2014)
Platinetti Vigna Ronco Maso Ghemme, 2010

I think the 2009 Platinetti Vigna Ronco Maso Ghemme is my favorite wine in that price point. My tasting note:
It's all there. This is great and has the ability to age for another 15 years; I just committed infanticide. As I'm typing this, I'm ordering more. I'll give a real tasting note on day two.

Day Two: Tannins have integrated more. Still loads of brambly and blueberry fruit and a three minute finish. A lot of rose water, bit of anise, a bit of cedar, blueberries. Damn good
I've heard nothing but great things about Étienne Calsac. I was hoping to buy the 2013 Clos des Maladries but was already sold out. Please let me know if and when you get the 2014 in stock. Thanks Michael!
