ISO 1970's "Birth Year" Wines

I have managed a couple of bottles of port but seeking some drinking worthy 1970’s for 4th quarter celebrations of my 50th: Cali cab, Bordeaux, Rhone or burgundy (although I cost concern on the burgundies). PM best.

Domaine de Chevalier
Lascombes
Leoville-Las Cases
Lynch-Bages
Montrose
Mouton-Rothschild
Palmer
Palmer 3.00L
Troplong Mondot 1.50L

E/M Your Interest,

Thanks

if you want something that might be a little more outside the box, but will probably be drinking really well, Kogod has a few different 1970 Riojas listed on his site. a 1970 Olara Reserva that I had last year was drinking fantastically.

1970 Murrieta Ygay Reserva is fabulous, as well…

Domaine de Chevalier is excellent as are well stored Palmer.
Donn is an excellent source.

I’m not a Rioja guy but 1970 Riojas are astonishing perfectly balanced wines that blow away other wines opened next to them.

I recently had the 1970 Mouton. In great shape, plenty of fruit left. But provenance is everything. I had owned the bottle since 1980.

I want to thank everyone for their input and 2 Berserker’s in particular for their generous offers. I think I have enough to celebrate with this year as it appears most of the '70’s are fully mature (or even a bit past) and not worth cellaring for any significant time into the future.
