Need for an upcoming event in November. Prefer chicago hand-off. Could also pick up in NY in early november pre-event. Of course would pay for shipping if need be. Not looking for top cuvees.

Sadly, I doubt you’ll obtain anything in that price range. The top cuvees will be at least 4x what you want to pay, and second wines from smaller houses will go for 2x in magnum size. There just isn’t the depth in older champagne vintages that you see in all other wines.
If you absolutely need an 1988 champagne mag in NYC in early November, your best bet is the Acker web auction, with all the risk that entails.

in theory there should be plenty in that price range. If they haven’t all been consumed. Henriot, Perrier Jouet, Veuve, etc.
I’d hunt down 1988 Henriot Enchanteleurs, I’m down to one otherwise I’d help you out.
