NYT Restaurant review: tell us what you really think!

About a new hotel restaurant from a “Top Chef” contestant:

But in the full experience of real life, over a number of meals, whether at a crowded dinner or leisurely lunch, the cooking at Plein Sud reveals itself to be lacking in flavor, texture, temperature or interest: room-service fare that leads to increased loneliness, raiding of the minibar, sleepless hours staring at the television in blue light, thinking about home.

Ouch!

Why bother with good food? The super-models and outer-borough wannabees will still vomit it shortly, on cobblestone Meatpacking District curbs.

Ouch, this is Ed, one of the better chefs in a very weak season thus year.

Damn, that’s cold. Apparently just like the food. [wow.gif]

Offline anyone?

Thanks, Eric, but I was looking for the review.

Ah, here it is: http://events.nytimes.com/2010/08/25/dining/reviews/25rest.html

I didn’t know Ed was a local boy (to me)

I ate there once and have not bothered going back. Unlike the reviewer I liked the bread service, the location is very convenient for me, it’s an attractive room with pleasant service. Too bad the food was worthless.
