Philly area BBQ

Thought I’d share a recent great BBQ experience when visiting daughter, son-in law, and in-laws in Yardley area north of Philadelphia. More than Q in Lambertville, NJ (right across the river from New Hope PA) has some of the best Texas-style BBQ I’ve ever had. It would hold its own plopped down anywhere in TX even in Lockhart. Brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs were incredible. Big smoke. Even the side dishes were memorable too and show a great deal of thought and attention. No wine offered on premises, byob’d (bring your own glasses) and bring something bold enough for the smoke. Wines: 2016 Ridge Lytton zin (4-), 2014 Bedrock Lorenzo’s (4-), 2015 Proper Syrah (4), 2017 Bedrock Heritage red (wow!, 4+) (all scores on a scale of 1-5).

Will keep this in mind next time we are down there

I’ll definitely put this on the list for the next time I am up that way. My personal favorite in PHL is Fette Sau in Fishtown, but its a little hipster and expensive (neither of which marry up well with traditional BBQ in the south)
