BEEF RENDANG

#1 Post by Martin Zwick » July 8th, 2019, 11:17 am

I was in the mood for a cozy&exotic braising dish, as we have now 18 C in Berlin in contrast to 38 C last week. In addition I knew I had some Rendang paste in my fridge.

Rendang Paste: http://www.verstegen-direct.co.uk/kumar ... -500g.html

Here comes an Indonesian classic......such delicious&such exotic&such sublime and such beefy. Fair to say based on a lot of spices, but at the end quite easy to make. My new favorite dish. The original version is more dry than my version. But I prefer a lot of sauce.

That looks spectacular, thank you!

I'm looking at ingredients on line.

What is man, when you come to think upon him, but a minutely set, ingenious machine for turning, with infinite artfulness, the fine red wine of Shiraz into urine?

Here you will find a recipe to make your own Rendang paste and a list of all the spices needed.

And don't worry these spices you need later the year for other asian dishes too, so it is a good investment.

Thanks!

I know I say this a lot, but I am so pleased you are here.

I've made the potato dish twice since you posted it...lovely.

pepsi

It makes me happy when you re-cook it and you are hopefully satisfied or even better it will warm your soul.

And don't worry if you don't find all ingredients, it will work anyway. GOOD LUCK

I’ll never find all those ingredients. Just send me the finished dish, please. Looks great.

NO

Here we have the asian version of Boeuf Bourginion or Goulash.

You only need the Rendang paste and some lemongrass and kaffirlimes leaves. Shouldn't be a problem via Google and Asia shop.
