Def do not sous vide a Jorge. Reverse sear or two zone on the grill. Depending on the couples... one could suffice for 4 if there are other proteins

Got my order in. Snagged a hanger and some misfit steaks to get an idea of some other cuts.

I completely agree. I was going to get 6. Then 8. Settled on 10!

I ordered 11 neener and some mismatched filets for my daughter. Gotta fill up on the $40 shipping charge!

So Flannery Hangars don't suck😁 Doing Jorge's next weekend for 2 couples at a weekend cabin getaway. Added a few of these to my order. First Flannery experience. The intensity of the beef flavor is incredible.

Nope the Hangers don’t suck and neither does the Bougetz Eminence. Excellent pairing!

Bougetz is a yearly purchase on Berserker day now. They're right there with Jean Edwards on bang for your buck wines. I avoided flannery for years, not because I wanted to but because I had to! I can see it's going to take a toll on my pocketbook now. Ugh.

Heads up, CA Reserve ribeyes are 20% off until 10/22 with code CARROTS

Might need to check the site periodically; the traffic might be crashing it.

It's their own fault for using CARROTS as their discount code.

It's only to be expected that the site would rise in revolt.

Good morning - Did anyone try to use the discount code after the website snafu? It doesn't seem to recognize the promotion code 'CARROTS', but perhaps the price is already discounted on the site? I can't quite tell. Thanks!

I just tried using the discount code and it worked for me. The 20% discount was explicit in the order summary on the checkout page.

You have to use the discount code in the sales screen and not during checkout. At least that has been my experience.

Thanks for the heads up that the site is working again as I was all out of steak in the freezer.

Ordered some ribeyes and am also trying their flanken for the first time since there's a chill in the air today and we're entering braising season. It's a dish that always reminds me of my mom.

That flanken was fantastic.

I used home made chicken/pork stock and fresh sage but otherwise followed this recipe:

In the calm before the atmospheric river I grilled Kali Flannery cut with grass-fed, 15% fat Angus. Covered each 1/2 lb burger with local mild Cheddar.

Added Heirloom tomatoes, Balsamic, Port Reyes Blue for an epic meal.
