Downtown Napa dinner reco

Going to be in Napa in March and looking for dinner recommendation for one night in downtown Napa. [cheers.gif]

Any guidelines on price and type?

Lots of great options downtown – Miminashi, Morimoto, Torc, Cole’s, Charlie Palmer (haven’t eaten, but a nice place), etc

Can vouch for Morimoto

Another vote for Morimoto.

No price restriction or type

Torc was disappointing when we went. Food was decent but not for the prices. Just one person’s opinion but just so you are aware

I’ve heard good things about Oenotri.

Got it.

Celadon and Angele are both excellent, IMHO. Morimoto is pricey for sushi (though not Kenzo expensive), but also excellent, and the space is cool. I’ve been hearing really good things about Charlie Palmer Steakhouse, but haven’t been myself, and Cole’s is also great for meats. Don’t be shy about BYOB.

For a drink/bottle before or after, try Compline, hidden back next to the Archer Hotel. Or, if you like sherry and pintxos for a snack, La Taberna.

We had an excellent meal at Ad Hoc, come hungry.

There are a TON of Napa threads in Travel

Nick’s Roast Beef…

Oh wait…
Oenotri, Miminashi, Angele and drinks at Cadet after

Ad Hoc is in Yountville, not downtown Napa.

Thanks All,

Trying to limit it to specifically downtown Napa. [cheers.gif] I did search there first, but seemed like a lot of work and I’m lazy

If you are wanting some decent cocktails there is a hotel Andaz. The bar on the second floor is pretty good and outdoor which is nice and relaxing. Good vibes

We’ve had terrific meals at Oenotri and Cole’s on previous visits to Napa.

Wherever you go, please report back!

Miminashi

Full blown meals with no fluff or foo foo, and best for the price:
Cole’s Chop House https://www.coleschophouse.com/
Ristorante Allegria http://www.ristoranteallegria.com/
Don Perico’s http://www.donpericos.com/

All three can be a bit noisy but their food is hard to beat unless you prefer French Laundry type food and pricing.

Charlie Palmer’s is unique and very good but pricey. The first clue is no menu on their website. You get the sticker shock after you are seated.

in & out. only place in the county where the fries aren’t frozen.
