Moved to Atlanta (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area) about six weeks ago. We’re finding most of what we need, but I feel like I’m in a cheese desert. Whole Foods has a modest selection but there has to be a great cheese shop in a city this size. Please! Recommendations!
Star Provisions at least once had a world class cheese selection (the original cheesemonger, Raymond Hook, totally changed the Atlanta cheese game), but I haven’t been there in years. Alon’s across from Perimeter Mall has a small but generally well curated selection. Some Krogers actually have a decent selection as well.If Star Provisions has slipped, then I don’t know if there is a one-stop shop here though.
Storica has a great italian chesse selection
Alon’s should be close to you (the Ashford Dunwoody location) - used to be better but still has an okay selection.
FIFY.
Another place for Italian cheese (and salumi, pasta, etc.) much closer to you: Deli - E 48th Street Market
