L'Ami Louis strikes again.

The third episode of "I’ll have what Phil’s having " is about Paris. The premise is simple; a very likeable reasonably knowledgeable comedy writer trotting around the world eating. He is an engaging lovely guy, everyman without Bourdain’s certainty and slight arrogance. Sometimes funny, often schmaltzy, and definitely someone I would like to have lunch with.

And then there is Paris, and no surprises for guessing where he decided the best chicken was. Yes, that $100 bird at L’Ami Louis. I suppose being a celebrity with a camera helps. And I have to say the film makes the chicken look quite appetizing. But I know that although this wasn’t the worst meal I have ever had, it was far and away the most disappointing, and still a family joke. So Phil, I am sorry, I will still like your show, but I will view your choices with some scepticism.
