Thoughts On A 8+ Qt Dutch Oven

I love myLe Creusets but I need something larger and am don’t want to shell out that kind of cash. Any favorites? Looking at Lodge. Does anyone know about the Sur le Table dutch ovens?

Cheers,
Jason

Jason, le Creuset outlets might be of help. Upwards of 50% discount if you are color driven.

I have a Lodge, it’s great. Replaced the rubber knob with a metal le creuset knob so it could withstand higher oven temps. I don’t have anything else to compare it to, but I love it.

I have a large Le Creuset. My one complaint is that it’s already heavy, so when full of liquid it gets really heavy. I recently picked up this braiser from Williams-Sonoma, have only used it once for a pot roast, but really liked it. Relatively light weight, but transferred heat very nicely, and it’s non-stick.

They make a could of dutch ovens in the same line:

I have a an 8L oval Cuistot. Pretty heavy, but is excellent. Have made several large Cassoulet in it and a few Boeuf Bourguignon. Believe the company is based in QC. Much less $ than Creuset.
